If you weren't in your profession, what would you do?
I would be a nutritionist. The Arts nourish my soul, and foods nourish my body. I have always been a strong believer that we are what we eat. The same way, I am careful about what I chose the watch, hear, feel etc...
Tell us about a woman, well-known or not, whom you admire and why.
My mother is the woman I admire the most.
She is a very intuitive and instinctive person who knows what is important and what is superfluous. She knows the name of plants, trees and animals and she knows who is a good person or not.
She has taught me that art is expressed in the way we live, in French we call it Art de vivre.My mother is creative in all aspects of her life, in the way the decorates the table, in the way she dresses, in the way she cooks.She is also extremely environmentally aware. She told me 40 years ago that we would have a problem with the way we waste and that plastic would suffocate us.
I always listen to her.
Who is the last artist who caught your eye?
I recently went to the Michael Hoppen Gallery and discovered an American photographer called Jeff Bark.I am totally enamoured with his brilliantly orchestrated sensual and humourous compositions.
His photographs are the results of thoughtfully assembled objects, masterfully lit in a way so that the oeuvre becomes almost painterly.
Sumptuous and surreal at the same time.
