What advice would you give to women starting in the art world?
See exhibitions as often as you can. Meet as many people as possible. Dont be afraid to approach people in the industry you admire.
What qualities motivate you to look at certain types of art/artists or visit a specific museum?
I look at everything and anything all the time! I have certain soft spots for work referencing music culture , the psychedelic, subcultures, and the archival. I travel a lot and seeing museums and galleries and project spaces in each city is how I organise my daily life!
Do you feel lucky to do what you do?
Very very lucky. When I graduated university I was working in the art dept of a book publisher and was immensely frustrated that main brain and time wasn’t used at all. I had to create a job where I could use both creatively. The art world was a perfect fit.
