AWITA Female Endeavour: Examining Female Representation of Female Artists

Our International Women’s Day event this year centred around a lecture by Dr Kate McMillan, an AWITA Member and Lecturer at King’s College London. Dr McMillan produced a report with the Freelands Foundation on the “Representation of Female Artists in Britain During 2018”; and the evening comprised of two sections - firstly looking at the gendered obstacles that women face in the commercial gallery sector, but also highlighting the successes and experience of AWITA members in shifting this.

On the panel, we also heard from Valeria Napoleone, Annka Kultys, Rosza Farkas, and Jane England.
