David Hockney once said, “It’s good advice to only believe what an artist does rather than what he says about his work.” Would you agree?
David Hockney is a legend and I enjoy his work but I politely disagree. Yes, in the case of aesthetics and in regards to particular mediums but certainly not for the entire breadth of creativity. This statement about accessibility is relative to the artist.

If you were to give advice to your younger self, what would it be?
If you are happy within yourself, you are already winning. You have two ears and one mouth, listen more, speak less (I am still working on this one).

Which female artist, living or dead, would you invite to a fantasy dinner party and why?
Vigée Le Brun! Imagine the stories she would have to tell. I would love to sip martinis and listen to the scandals, hardships and the international travels of such a phenomenal artist in a turbulent time.
