Conversation with Kristen Force

Do you collect art?
I have started to collect art in the last few years and most recently have been drawn to works on paper. A few favourites have been by Emma Kohlmann and Robert Davis. The first work I ever bought was by Sebastian Vallejo who was showing at my friend's gallery in the LES in New York. I love the texture and use of colour in his paintings. They have so much life to them.
If you were to give advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Ask more questions, you don't always have to have the answers. Learn as much as you can from the very talented people you'll work with. I would also tell my younger self to see as much art as you can. When amazing art comes to you for your job, it's easy to not make the effort to get out and see exhibitions, but it is so important to do so.
Do you feel lucky to do what you do?
I feel so incredibly lucky to do what I do. My career path has led me to meet so many wonderful people, bosses, colleagues and clients, and I'm so fortunate to have spent time with them. I'm also very lucky to be currently pursuing my passion in the area of art and politics as well as my work with A Force for Good Foundation.
