What advice would you give to women starting in the art world?

Keep an open and inquisitive mind, always ask questions and never give up. And remember to embrace and nurture the relationships you make along the way…. there are brilliant, passionate people working throughout the art world and its one of the most exciting and enriching aspects of working in the arts.

What are you excited about right now?
Amongst other things I am curator at The AllBright, a women’s network that combines member’s clubs in both the UK and the US with a digital community and skills academy. We aim to help women build the network, skills and confidence that they need to thrive.

We opened the doors of our first club on International Women’s Day 2018 as a place to celebrate and champion women to inspire change. Since then our community of inspiring, smart-minded women has continued to grow. One year on, I am working on the next club which will launch on Maddox Street in spring 2019 with West Hollywood, LA hot on the heals...

Which female artist, living or dead, would you invite to a fantasy dinner party and why?
I have long been fascinated by female artists working in the early parts of the 20th Century; it must have been a moment that felt charged with possibility and questioning, and I also imagine, great frustration.  May I invite Claude Cahun who was born a woman (Lucy Renee Mathilde Schwob) in 1894 to dinner. Cahun transgressed societal norms, questioned gender roles and created exquisite, poetic, subversive and beautiful, sensitive work. So forward in their thinking…. I would have so many questions to ask, from the personal to the political, and I think it would be immense fun to boot.
