A New Decade for the Visual Arts: What Issues Will Roar in the Twenties?
28th February 2020, Goodman Gallery
This was our first Breakfast Briefing - a new series of small format events where we come together to discuss specific topics.
At our inaugural Breakfast Briefing, ‘A new decade for the visual arts: what issues will roar in the twenties?’, invited guests were offered short provocations on how the visual arts might respond to the big global questions and what impact this might have on our industry. This event was hosted at the Goodman Gallery during Shirin Neshat’s much anticipated show ‘Land of Dreams’. Neshat’s has consistently and fluently probed issues of gender, power, displacement, protest, identity and the space between the personal and the political with a singular and powerful aesthetic.
