“They weren’t posing for me, they let me into their world.”

Mary McCartney will lead a private tour of her Sotheby’s exhibition “Can we have a moment? Three decades of Photographs in Britain.” Taking her first ever contact sheet as a starting point, she selected images which she felt both embodied the “best of Britain”, as well as those works that naturally form connections with one another.

Mary McCartney started her career as a photographer in 1995. Her work spans the worlds of portrait and fashion photography and focuses on discovering those rare moments of emotionally charged intimacy that offer a new insight to the subject. Mary has exhibited in leading institutions including the V&A, National History Museum, National Portrait Gallery and Gagosian Gallery in NYC.
