Maike Cruse joined as Director, Art Basel in Basel in July 2023. Maike leads the fair's premier Swiss edition, overseeing the team in Basel and working closely with the Art Basel's network of galleries, collectors, and artists as well as nurturing close relationships with the city's leading museums, institutions, and cultural partners. She has extensive art fair experience, having previously led the Gallery Weekend Berlin, art berlin (2016-2019), and art berlin contemporary (2012-2016). Having worked as Communications Manager for Art Basel from 2008 to 2011, Maike is well acquainted with the fair and the city of Basel's cultural landscape. She also held positions at the KW Institute of Contemporary Art in Berlin and the Berlin Biennale and co-launched the groundbreaking "Forgotten Bar" project in 2008. Maike has a background in Fine Art, a wide ranging artworld network, and extensive record in fostering meaningful partnerships and collaborative formats spotlighting contemporary artists and galleries.
Together with Nigel Dunkley, Grace Schofield is the co-founder and director of Union Pacific Gallery which represents 17 artists and has two locations in London. Following her graduation in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2009, Grace has accrued a broad range of experiences in the gallery sector. She has been gallery assistant at Sprüth Magers London, worked with events managing at Whitechapel Art Gallery and in the sales department. She was co-director of The Sunday Painter Gallery between 2010 and 2014. During that time, she was also engaged in a four-year, full-time position at the Gagosian Gallery in a variety of roles, most notably assisting director Stefan von Ratibor.
Dr Alia Al-Senussi holds a number of non-profit board and committee positions at organizations such as Tate, the Middle East Council of the Guggenheim, and Delfina Foundation; she is a Senior Advisor to the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Culture. Al-Senussi has a PhD in Politics from SOAS University of London and is an affiliated scholar and guest lecturer at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs and its Center for Middle East Studies. Since 2011, Alia has been involved with Art Basel currently serving as Art Basel's UK and MENA Representative and International Outreach Senior Advisor.
Coline Milliard is Executive Editor at Art Basel, where she oversees the editorial strategy and implementation, as well as the Conversations program worldwide. Over the last 15 years, she has held several senior editorial positions, including at artnet News and Garage Magazine, and has written extensively about art across all sections of the market. Coline has lectured at London’s Royal College of Art and Chelsea College of Arts and holds post-graduate degrees from the Royal College of Art and the Sorbonne in Paris. She sits on Matt’s Gallery’s board of trustees.

Art Basel’s Basel fair brings the international artworld together. Its upcoming edition will take place from June 10th to June 16th, 2024. It will feature 285 leading galleries and more than 4,000 artists from five continents. Many high-quality exhibitions take place concurrently in and around Basel, creating a region-wide art week.
