Private View & New Space Opening: Solo exhibition by Mexican artist duo Celeste on 18 September, 2—8pm
Canopy Collections, founded by AWITA member Louise Chignac, is inaugurating their first permanent space in Bloomsbury this month with an exhibition by Mexican artist duo Celeste (María Fernanda Camarena and Gabriel Rosas Alemán).
This exhibition is the first to focus entirely on Celeste’s works on paper. It is organised in conjunction with the artists' first institutional show in Europe, which will open at the Royal Society of Sculptors on the 5th October (curated by AWITA member Caroline Worthington).
Celeste were exhibited for the time in Europe by Canopy Collections at Cromwell Place in January 2023. They have since then achieved international recognition for their monumental and participatory artworks, with museum shows in Mexico City and the US, as well as a major commission for Soho House Mexico curated by Kate Bryan.
