The Blazing a Trail: Modern British Women auction returns for the fourth time this September, featuring iconic works by Vanessa Bell, Emily Young and Mary Fedden among others. ⁠It is a truth universally acknowledged that men largely outnumber women in fine art sales, and this holds true within the field of Modern British & Irish Art. We regularly see only a small handful of women artists in each sale, such as Dame Barbara Hepworth and Bridget Riley who are now household names. Blazing a Trail at Bonhams seeks to redress this gender imbalance by showcasing the very best of women British artists from the 20th century. ⁠
