Exhibition Recommendation: HS Projects' Yinka Shonibare show

Following the commission of ‘Wind Sculpture’ in 2014, Yinka Shonibare MBE’s first permanent work in the public domain, HS Projects are delighted to present an exhibition of some of the artist’s emblematic works.

‘Wind Sculpture’, commissioned for 5 Howick Place, pays homage to the history of the area with its associations to the 1832 Reform Act, Catholic emancipation and the ending of slavery in the British Empire. It has a majestic presence, with brightly coloured, painted surfaces to replicate the patterns of Dutch wax batik fabrics that have become synonymous with African identity.
