What makes you happy?

Travel! I live for holidays and I think I am secretly a hippy at heart. I love experiencing new cultures, seeing new places and especially sampling different cuisines being the foodie that I am. I am fortunate enough to have been to many different parts of the world, including Oman and India for a wedding. I still have many places left on my list though!

What is a good reason to say no?

When saying yes goes against your morals and beliefs. Saying no is often difficult when in a work environment or socially when in a group, however, I am a firm believer that you should not always follow the crowd, especially if in doing so you face internal conflict.

Do you feel lucky to do what you do?

When I tell people I am an accountant I can see the eyes glaze over with almost instant effect. Who can blame them, I remember many years ago whilst doing my English Literature degree laughing off my now husband’s suggestion of becoming an accountant. Thankfully I love a challenge and my role at Rawlinson & Hunter has certainly kept me on my toes. Working with the art sector and other interesting industries has given me the opportunity to work with some really interesting people and attend many places I would not have had the opportunity to otherwise. I have been lucky enough to explore many galleries and art exhibitions, and whilst I don’t claim to know much about the art directly, I do find some of the art creations fascinating. It also pays the bills and helps me to fund my holidays (see above).
